Rome woman arrested after leading police on a high speed chase at speeds over 140 mph

A Rome woman is charged with leading police on a chase in speeds over 140 mph on June 1 before being arrested in Alabama. Feliesha Michelle Soignet, 23, of 8560 Alabama Highway, is charged with felony fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer. Police attempted to pull Soignet over near Ga. 20 at Salem Drive when she fled.Once over the Alabama line she was arrested by the Cherokee County authorities. Soignet is also charged with misdemeanor speeding, failure to maintain lane, driving on an expired license, driving without insurance, driving on an expired tag and reckless driving.She was released on $5,700 bond Monday morning.
