Suspect Arrested After Leading Authorities on High-Speed Chase on I-75 in Stolen Vehicle

Arvil Lee Chambers of Cleveland Tennessee was arrested Sunday evening by the Cartersville Police Department after leading them on high-speed chase. The chase started after a Bartow County 911 caller stated to that they were meeting Chambers to sell him a car that they bought from him previously. Instead of buying the car Chambers jump in and took off. The caller followed the suspect giving updated locations to 911 until Cartersville Police officers located the suspect and the vehicle. Officer then attempt a traffic stop on the vehicle who field to yield leading Cartersville Police officers on chase reaching speeds over a 100. The chase went down Main Street before heading northbound on I-75. A Georgia State Patrol Trooper was able to join the pursuit shortly after it started and quickly ended it with a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) maneuver just before exit 290. The PIT by the Georgia State Patrol Trooper spun the vehicle into the I-75 grass median where officers and troopers where able to to take the suspect into custody. The suspect Avril Chambers is being charged with numerous charges including Theft by Receiving Stolen Property-Felony (Felony), Driving Within the Emergency Lane/Gore/Median Misdemeanor Driving while License Suspended or Revoked - 1st Offense (Misdemeanor), Reckless Driving Misdemeanor Fleeing/Attempting to Elude Police (Misdemeanor), Theft by Taking - F - Motor Vehicle (Felony). Marijuana-possess less than 1 oz (Misdemeanor), Driving while License Suspended or Revoked - 2nd Offense within 5 years (Misdemeanor), Reckless Driving (Misdemeanor), Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Police Officer for a Felony Offense (Felony) and a bond of $11,250.
