A wreck with entrapment stalled traffic on US-411 between Bagwell Road and Davis Road Thursday afternoon. According to Rome Fire Department Battalion Chief Gene Proctor, “My units responded to an automobile accident with injuries and entrapment. We got on the scene and found that a pickup truck had crossed the center line and struck a log truck in the rear axle of the trailer. The pickup truck overturned into the ditch on the east side of the highway and in the process of hitting the trailer, it ripped the drive side door off the pickup truck. We made entry to him and had to use some hydraulic equipment to be able to extricate the guy from the truck. The tractor-trailer continued down the roadway several hundred feet and then left the roadway on the opposite side of the road.”

The driver of the pickup truck sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Redmond EMS for further treatment. The driver of the log truck was uninjured. (WRGA)
