Two arrested after leading authorities on a wild high speed chase on Highway 411. It started when Georgia State Patrol Trooper 482 attempted to stop a blue Jeep Liberty on Highway 411 southbound just inside Murray County Friday Shortly after 4:00 p.m. Friday, May, 12. The driver of the jeep identified as 25-year-old Robert Jones from Gordon County took off from the trooper at a high rate of speed southbound on Highway 411. The pursuit continue reaching speeds over a 100 with the driver driving all over the roadway running multiple vehicles off the roadway. The pursuit went through Ranger and continued through the City of Fairmount. The pursuit finally came to an end with a minor crash near Salacoa Road close to the Gordon County line. Law enforcement quickly took the female passenger identified as 27-year-old Jessica Cress into custody. The driver of the Jeep Liberty fled on foot leading troopers and deputies on foot pursuit. The suspect was able to elude authorities but not before being arrested later that night by Bartow County Sheriffs Deputies at a house in Bartow. The driver Robert Jones is being charged with Maximum limits, Fleeing or attempting to elude police officers along with other numerous traffic offenses. The Passenger Jessica Cress is being charged with Obstructing or hindering law enforcement officers and no safety belt. Both are being held in the Gordon County Jail.
