Georgia State Patrol Investigating Fatal Crash in Walker County

The Georgia State Patrol is investigating fatal three vehicle crash, it happened just before 4:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon. The crash happened on Highway 27 near the split in Rossville. Walker County Sheriff's Office, Georgia State Patrol, Walker County Emergency Services, Puckett EMS along with Angel EMS all responded to the crash. Upon EMS arrival they found a three vehicle crash. Two of the vehicles had heavy damage and entrapment. EMS on scene quickly summoned Life Force to the scene of the crash due to a lengthy extraction with one of the vehicles. Life Force landed on Highway 27 just south of the crash. A Chickamauga woman died from injuries in a wreck in Rossville, just minutes after having been in a wreck in Chickamauga.According to Georgia State Patrol Post 41, on Wednesday, May 3, at 3:30 p.m., 29-year-old Jessica Leann Young was traveling north in the southbound lane on U.S. Highway 27 and approaching Ga. Highway 2 when her red 1999 Ford Escort collided head-on with silver 2016 Toyota 4Runner driven by 65-year-old Martha Selvidge of Rock Spring.The impact caused the 4Runner to spin and enter the right lane, where she was T-boned on the driver side by 20-year-old Brittanie Owens of Chickamauga who was driving a 1998 Ford Explorer. Young was involved in a two-vehicle collision on the same day at 2:40 p.m. in front of the Food Lion on U.S. Highway 27 in the city of Chickamauga.
