Firefighters Battle House Fire Monday Afternoon In Chickamauga

Walker County 911 received a call of a residential structure fire on Monday afternoon around 12:15 p.m., the house was located at 747 Vittetoe Road in Chickamauga. Stations 2, 5, 6, 8, 19 Truck 6, along with Air 7, and Puckett EMS was dispatched to the fire. Walker County Emergency ServicesWalker 500,101 Engine 1, 6, 11 Company 8 (Walker prison), Air 5, 7 along Puckett EMS 806, 401 on standby and a Fort Oglethorpe engine all responded to the house fire. Engine 6 was the first to arrive on scene and found a single story family dwelling 20% involved. Crews went into defense operations due to wind and fire condition. The residence sets back along a long driveway off from the road. According to emergency responders, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
