Motorcycle chase ends in serious injuries for oneNorthwest Georgia ScannerApr 7, 20171 min readA motorcycle chase Saturday afternoon on Highway 53 east ended in one Calhoun man being seriously injured. According to Sgt. 1st Class Seth Thompson with the Georgia State Patrol, the accident occurred around 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 1. A 2013 Kawasaki sport bike, driven by Joshua Ollis, 26, of Calhoun, was involved in a chase instigated by Gordon County Sheriff’s Office. According to the GSP, Ollis traveled east on Highway 53 at high rates of speed. As he entered into Fairmount, Ollis failed to stop at the intersection of Highway 53 and Highway 411, broad siding the driver’s side door of a 1996 Jeep Cherokee traveling north on Highway 411, driven by Richard Goble, 60, of Fairmount. Upon impact, the Jeep traveled off the roadway and into a tree. Goble was trapped and extricated with the jaws of life. He was transported to Gordon Hospital by Gordon EMS with non life-threatening injuries.Ollis was transported by Life Force to Erlanger Medical Center with head injuries.
