Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor has identified a man killed in the wreck at the intersection of Black's Bluff Road and the West Rome Bypass as 82-year-old John William Farr Jr., of Rome Georgia. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 11:00 a.m. The cause of death was multiple trauma from a motor vehicle accident. According to Georgia State Patrol Sgt. First Class Scott Thompson:A tractor trailer truck was driving north on the West Rome Bypass when he noticed a gold 2004 Chevrolet Venture van headed across the intersection. The semi and van came to rest at the top of the embankment on the side of the road at least 100' from the road. The driver of the truck was not at fault, so there will not be any charges filed Thompson said.
