Head-on collision kills one injures three in Gordon County

From the Georgia State Patrol: On Sunday at 9:35 p.m., TFC3 Daniel Burt was dispatched to Red Bud Road just west of Pack Road for a two-vehicle, head-on crash. When Burt arrived on scene, he found a white Chevrolet S-10 and a white Ford Expedition. The white Chevrolet S-10 was traveling westbound on Red Bud Road. The white Ford Expedition was traveling eastbound on Red Bud Road. The Chevrolet S-10 crossed over the double yellow lines and into the eastbound lane. The Chevrolet struck the Ford Expedition head on. The driver of the Chevrolet S-10 — a white 54-year-old male –was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Gordon County coroner. The driver of the Ford Expedition was not wearing a seat belt and flown to Erlanger Medical Center. The front seat passenger who was not wearing a seat belt and a small female child that was in a car seat were taken to Floyd Medical Center. Names are not being released due tofamily notification.
