Catoosa County man convicted of killing mother of his children

On Thursday morning the jury convicted 48-year-old Brian Davenport of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, two counts of making false statements, two counts of possession of a firearm, and two counts of tampering with evidence. On March 11th, 2016 that deputies were called to a home at 2133 Taylor's Ridge Road.They found 46-year-old Deborah Abney dead inside a car, with a single gunshot to the back of her head.The 911 call came in as a suicide.Deputies noticed a gun may have been moved at the crime scene. Davenport was charged with false statements and tampering with evidence, which he later admitted to. An autopsy showed a more sinister crime took place, that Abney had been shot in the back of the head WTVC
