Police chase ends in crash in Chickamauga Battlefield with patrol vehicle

A woman crashes into patrol vehicle after leading police on brief pursuit

through the Chickamauga Battlefield. The chase happened Tuesday just after 4:30 pm. It started after a hit and run at the Krystal on Old Lafayette Road in Fort Oglethorpe. A Fort Oglethorpe police officer got behind the Dodge Challenger and attempted to pull the vehicle over. The female driver continued into the Battlefield. A National Park Service Officer spotted the chase and joined in. The chase continued south with the female driving all over the road reaching speeds around 60 mph. National Park Service Officer pulled in front to block the female after she stopped for a brief moment. That's when she took off striking the National Park Service patrol vehicle. The female was quickly arrest and transported to the hospital by EMS. She is said to have had low blood sugar and possible have been a drunk. Unknown any further Georgia State Patrol is working the crash, we will update once more information is released.
