One suspect arrested another still at large after high-speed chase in Fort Oglethorpe

A high-speed chase through Fort Oglethorpe over the weekend on Battlefield Parkway (GA 2) ended with one suspect being arrested in the nearby woods and the other suspect still on the run from police. According to the Fort Oglethorpe Police Department: Chad Lee Burnette, 33, of Daisy Dallas Road in Hixson, Tenn., was arrested March 12 on a slew charges of speeding, reckless driving, fleeing or attempting to elude officer, obstruction of law enforcement officers, improper right turn, driving while license revoked, and probation violation. Burnette is also wanted and had a hold placed on him out of East Ridge, Tenn. He remains in the Catoosa County jail with bond set at $6,500. The
Incident started shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday, March 12, on Battlefield Parkway when Fort Oglethorpe Police Lt. Keith Sewell saw a silver Mercedes C240 going across two lanes of traffic at high speeds and make an illegal turn into the Lowe's parking lot.The vehicle circled through the parking lot and then jumped back on Battlefield Parkway starting the high speed pursuit according to reports. The vehicle was traveling over 100 mph in a 45-mph zone, nearly striking multiple other vehicles. The vehicle passed through the intersection of Battlefield Parkway and Lafayette Road at a very high rate of speed. The vehicle struck a median, causing three of the car's four tires to a blowout. The vehicle tried to continue at a high rate of speed before finally stopping in the median after trying to take a curve on the U.S. Highway 27 bypass ramp failed. At that point the two men took off on foot from the vehicle. Officers quickly caught up to Burnette, who was the driver of the vehicle during the chase. Though Burnette was taken into custody. 28-year-old Robert John Komosinski the passenger inn the vehicle was able to elude officers. Warrants are now out for Komosinski in result of the incident. Komosinski's listed address according to police is 32 Princess Lane in Rossville.
