Illegal Immigrant Arrested for Home Invasion, Robbery and More

An armed robbery suspect was arrested Thursday evening at a construction site in Carolina Beach.

Emery Tejada-Wandique, 33, was arrested by U.S. Marshals around 5 p.m. Thursday. Tejada-Wandique was wanted by the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia on armed robbery and firearms charges after a home invasion incident that occurred in Georgia earlier this month. Reports stated that the incident occurred back on January 13th of this year. A second incident occurred on February 8th. Additionally, Tejada-Wandique faces charges of illegal re-entry into the United States. He is a citizen of Honduras.Russ Fields with the U.S. Marshals said the arrest of Tejada-Wandique was an isolated case.
