Man seriously injured after serious single vehicle accident on Highway 100

A single vehicle accident on Highway 100, near the intersection of Silver Hill Road left the driver of the vehicle entrapped for a period of time on Monday evening. The crash happened just before 5:00 that when crews were paged to the crash. Fire station's 1, 5, 9, Redmond EMS units 31, 32 along with Georgia State Patrol Trooper 625 and Chattooga County Sheriff's office responded to the crash. The driver of the vehicle was pinned with his arm outside the vehicle for a period of time before first responders arrived. firefighters from multiple stations all worked together to get the man extricated. Firefighter worked tirelessly and had to do extensive cutting on the vehicle before they were able to free the victim from the wreckage nearly an hour later. Lifeforce nurses and paramedics walk to to the scene while they attracted the patient to evaluate injuries. They landed a short distance from the scene. Victim was said to be on life support due to multiple broken bones and spinal injury No names have been released at this time. North West Georgia Scanner will have more information when a report is released by the Georgia State Patrol.
