Wanted fugitive from Catoosa County arrested in Rossville

Authorities in Catoosa County announced on Friday that man wanted for kidnapping and attempted murder is now in police custody Catoosa County Sheriff Gary Sisk says the arrest was made Thursday night just before 8:30 pm., local, state, and federal agencies captured 41-year-old Wesley "Gage" Weldon at a residence on Indian Avenue in Rossville Georgia. Prior to the arrest, deputies of the Catoosa County Sheriffs Office got a call that Weldon was seen at that residence arriving in a vehicle, getting out, and getting into a second vehicle. As law-enforcement agencies approached Weldon, Sheriff Sisk says he tried to start the vehicle and flee from police. This forced officers to have to break out the window of the vehicle Weldon was trying to flee in which caused him to suffered a laceration. Weldon continued to resist the arrest and deputies were forced to use a taser on him to take him into custody. EMS responded to check Weldon out before he was hauled to jail. Weldon is currently being housed in the Catoosa County jail charged with multiple felony charges including criminal attempt to commit murder, kidnapping with bodily injury and false imprisonment.
