Shots fired after wild high speed chase from Catoosa County ends in crash on I-24 in Tennessee

The pursuit started when a Fort Oglethorpe Police officer attempted a traffic stop just before 11:00 pm Tuesday night. Thats when the vehicle took of failing to stop for police. Police went ahead and upgraded his charges to felony charges. Dispatch notified other agencies of the reason for the chase and charges on the suspect. The chase went up Cloud Springs Road before getting onto I-75 north bound toward Tennessee. The chase contained into Tennessee reaching speeds of almost 100. East Ridge police deployed spike strips hitting the suspects tires on I-75 just before the split. The suspect went I-24 heading into Chattanooga Police jurisdiction of I-24. The chase ended near the 179 Mile Marker on I-24 inn a crash. The suspect then ran on foot down the embankment, thats when the suspect reached for his waist and was shot at and Tased by Police. There was child in the suspects vehicle during the dangerous chase but is believed to be unharmed. No one was injured or hurt during the pursuit except maybe the suspect after he got Tased.
