Possible Child Abduction in Paulding County

At approximately 4:30 pm on Wednesday January 11, 2017 Deputies responded to Ivy Springs Drive which is in the Ivy Springs subdivision in the New Hope Community reference a possible child abduction. At this time, we do not know whether the male suspect attempted to abduct the child. It must also be noted that the child WAS NOT abducted during this incident. After speaking with the complainant, Deputies began searching the area for a possible suspect. Numerous Deputies as well as our K-9 Unit participated in the search. The search did not result in the location of the subject. According to the complainant, her 10 year old daughter was playing in their cul-de-sac (which is on Ivy Springs Drive near Kessle Lane) on her bicycle when a white male with shaggy red hair and red facial hair touched her on her shoulder. The child did not know the male and quickly got away from him without injury. The male ran away into the woods and has not been located. The male is further described as wearing a blue shirt, red shorts, and black and white Nike shoes. He was also reported to possibly have a black rag in his hand. Deputies have continually searched the area for hours without locating any sign of the male suspect. If you have any information regarding this incident or see anything suspicious please call 911 immediately.
