Walker County Emergency Services battle multiple structure fires st start the new year

Walker County Emergency Services have been busy with several structure fires to start the year. The first one was on Raydine Lane Saturday January 8th. Walker Wagon 2, Engine 1 and 6, Company 8, Walker 100 and 500 and Rossville Engine 3 all responded to the alarm. No injuries were reported and Puckett Medic 802 was on standby during the incident. Thanks to Rossville Fire Dept. for thier assistance. The second being a Third alarm fire came that evening. The crews responding to the fire included Walker County Emergency Services, engine 6, truck 6, Walker Company 8 (Walker Prison) Battalion 2, Walker 500 (Assistant Chief) along with a Puckett EMS unit for standby. The caller advised there was a fire in the garage. Firefighters quickly arrived on scene advising a three-story wood frame structure nearly fully engulfed with explosion from propane tanks. Shortly after Walker 500 transmitted a second alarm for the house fire. Engine 5, Wagon 11, Wagon 9, Engine 1 engine 3 engine 2 responded to the fire.

Another structure Tuesday morning around 7:30 am January 10th on Van Dell Dr in Rock Spring. The structure was nearly engulfed by the time firefighters arrived on scene. Walker County Fire crews quickly went into defense mode working to get the fire out. Engine 1, 6 and 11, Company 8, Walker 100 and 105. Along with EMS Puckett Medic 806 on standby during the fire. No injuries were reported in these fires.

Another fire which was alter reported to be Arson happen around 4:20 AM Thursday morning at the 1200 block of Dunwoody Road off highway 151. when crews arrived they found a structure with flame showing through the roof. Fire crews were quickly able to knock down the fire though the house is now a complete loss. Fire marshal was contacted and rolled the fire to be an arson after investigating. Family was displaced after another house fire in Walker County, Walker County dispatchers said firefighters arrived to 411 Highway 201 just before 9:00 a.m Sunday morning. No one was hurt, but the home is a total loss. The fire was near the Whitfield County line so they requested mutual aid from Whitfield County Fire Station 6. Firefighters battled the fire into the lunch hour. The American Red Cross was called to the scene to help the family. Firefighters said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
