Winter storm causes accidents across North West Georgia region

Friday night Emergency crews from the region were called to wrecks one after another in the. The crashes started when a Catoosa County deputy rolled up on a Semi overturned on I-75 near the mile marker 350. The trucker was entrapment and had to be extracted from the semi. Georgia State Patrol (GSP) said preliminary investigation showed that a SUV puled in front of a tractor trailer on I-75 northbound and slammed the breaks. Causing the Semi driver to swerve and to land on its side. Chattanooga Police were called to crash on I-75 with negative injuries a vehicle had slid into the wall. While the officer was on scene working the accident more vehicles started sliding all over crashing into walls and running off the road causing chain reactions. One vehicle nearly hit the officer in the huge mess. The Officer proclaim over the scanner for the dispatcher to send more help because vehicle continue to crash. Chattanooga Police eventually started responding in one of there SWAT vehicles to I-75 to help with the mess. Crashes continue into the night on the stretch of I-75 in Chattanooga Tennessee. A two vehicle accident was reported on Highway 2 in Walker County just after 12:00 am and Shortly after that a vehicle flipped on it's side on I-75 in Whitfield County. Whitfield County emergency crews continued to worked several crashes into the morning. There was an eight-car crash on Carbondale Road in Whitfield county, caused by the roadway being covered in a thick layer of ice. Cars slid along the North Georgia road covered in ice. Police said some drivers abandoned their cars and walked home. happened at around 6:30 Saturday morning, eight cars slid into each other. All were minor crashes and no one was hurt. Chattooga County worked serval crashes including one overturned vehicle on 411 Norton Road another at Butler Dairy Road both having negative injuries. Floyd County emergency personnel responded to accidents as well across the county. a six-car wreck on Ga. 140 was reported and more.
