Another Fatal House Fire This One In Walker County Early Monday Morning

Walker County Emergency Services was dispatched to a Structure Fire with possible entrapment just after 3 A.M. Monday morning in Rossville. A Walker County deputy was the first to arrive on the scene in the 1200 block of Salem Rd. the deputy advised the house was heavily involved with flames. Fire crews from WCES Engine 6 arrived shortly after the deputy, they also found a house with heavy fire involvement on one side of the structure. Crews from WCES Engine 6 went into rescue mode after being advised that there was a man that was trapped inside. Firefighters quickly entered the structure that was in flames without hesitating
they did a quick search for the victim. Shortly after searching they were able to find the victim and was able get him out of the home. First responders started CPR on the victim that had
went into cardiac arrest. They were able to revive the victim and bring them back to life thanks to the heroic actions by Walker County firefighters. The victim was transported to a local hospital were he later died from his injuries. There was a female that was inside the house as well she was able to make it out safely. Walker Engines 1 and 6, Walker 500, 105, and 102, along with Rossville Engine 3, FO Air/Light 1, Puckett Medic 803. 804, and 806 all responded to the scene of the residential structure fire . The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Without the the quick actions from the Walker County firefighters this could've easily been another fatal fire for our region. Walker County Emergency Services said in a post on Facebook "Thank you to Rossville and Fort Oglethorpe Fire Departments for your assistance. Our heart and prayers go out to this family."
