Walker County Emergency Services responded to a two alarm fire around 4 p.m. yesterday on Country Estates Rd. When fire crews arrived they found heavy fire and smoke coming from the structure. Firefighters made several attempts to gain access to the fire but due to it's size and the heat were forced to change to defensive operations. Units on scene included, Engines 1,3,6,11,and 13, Trucks 3,6, and 13, Wagon 13, Ladder 1, Company 8, along with Walker 500, Battalion 1 and Catoosa Tanker 7. Puckett EMS unit provided medical standby and Walker County CERT provided Rehab during the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause is unknown at this time. The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the homeowners. Thank you to Catoosa County for providing assistance at the scene and for sending Catoosa Engine 6 to District 1 for coverage.
