LaFayette police press release:

LaFayette Police Department received complaints from numerous citizens about illegal commercial gambling in the city limits. A search warrant was served today (Wednesday, Oct. 26) for the premises of Chevron LaFayette convenience store located at 800 North Main Street LaFayette. This is the culmination of a month-long undercover operation involving resources from the LaFayette Police Department, Lookout Mountain Drug Task Force and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. An undercover agent was sent into this business on multiple occasions this month for the purpose of validating the complaints of the alleged illegal gambling activity. The undercover agent received numerous cash payouts on his winnings from the digital poker machines located on the premises.
